Gerhard Anker studied tuba with Reinhard Gritsch at the Tyrolean State Conservatory. For 10 years he was member of the brass band Fröschl Hall and a substitute with the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestras Innsbruck and Vorarlberg. Furthermore, he played with many well-known brass and folk music formations
Since 2007 Gerhard Anker has been tubist of the well-known brass ensemble "Innsbrucker Böhmische"
